RevenueCat alternatives: what each costs at $1k, $5k, $10k and $50k a month
RevenueCat alternatives compared on published prices at $1k, $5k, $10k and $50k a month, with the arithmetic, plus when staying put is the better call.
I'm Antonio, and I use RevenueCat. I have no commercial ties to any of these companies, other than being a RevenueCat customer. I like RevenueCat, so this page starts with the cases where you shouldn't look for alternatives at all. After that come the numbers for Superwall, Adapty, Qonversion, Apphud, Purchasely and building on StoreKit and Play Billing yourself.
All prices below were read from each company's own pricing page on 4 Nov 2026. None of those pages shows an effective date, so check them before you decide.
When you shouldn't leave RevenueCat
Stay if any of these is true:
- You earn under $2,500 a month. RevenueCat's pricing page says "Pay nothing for up to $2,500 in monthly tracked revenue." A move saves nothing.
- Your paywalls, experiments and charts already run on RevenueCat. A switch means a new SDK, moving subscriber history and re-checking every entitlement. None of the numbers on this page includes that work.
- The gap is small. At $5,000 a month RevenueCat costs $50 and Qonversion or Apphud cost $0. That is $600 a year.
- You'd be replacing a feature you use. Fee tables don't show that a provider lacks something you rely on. Check features first, price second.
The fee difference grows with revenue. At $50,000 a month RevenueCat costs $500. Qonversion costs $400, which is $1,200 a year less. Superwall without its paywalls costs $0 on its published pricing, which is $6,000 a year less, but then you run your own paywalls.
Cost at your revenue
Monthly cost in USD, from each provider's published rule. "MTR" is monthly tracked revenue as each company defines it.
| Option | $1k | $5k | $10k | $50k |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0 | $50 | $100 | $500 | |
| $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | |
| $0 | $0 | $0 | $500 | |
| $0 | $50 (see note) | $100 | $500 | |
| $0 | $0 | $80 | $400 | |
| $0 | $0 | $0 | $495 | |

The arithmetic
- RevenueCat: free under $2,500, then 1% of all tracked revenue. $5,000 x 1% = $50. $10,000 x 1% = $100. $50,000 x 1% = $500.
- Superwall, no Superwall paywalls: infrastructure is free at any scale on Superwall's published pricing (4 Nov 2026), so $0 at every level. This row does not include Superwall paywalls.
- Superwall Indie with paywalls on all revenue: "Up to $10k MAR, then 1% of total MAR." $10,000 is still $0. $50,000 x 1% = $500. This row assumes every dollar converts through a Superwall paywall. Revenue that doesn't is not billed, says Superwall.
- Adapty: free while you earn under $5K a month, then 1% of that month's revenue. $5,000 x 1% = $50. No page says what happens at $5,000 itself, so I show $50 as the calculator does.
- Qonversion: free at or under $7,000, then 0.8% of the total. $10,000 x 0.8% = $80. $50,000 x 0.8% = $400, which matches Qonversion's own example.
- Apphud: free up to $10,000. Pro is 0.99% of MTR with a $49 minimum. $50,000 x 0.99% = $495, above the minimum. Apphud's FAQ defines MTR as total gross revenue, so the rate applies to the total.
- Native: $15 a month below $5,000, $45 from $5,000 up to $30,000, $120 from $30,000. These are my estimates for a small server and database that receive store notifications. They cover hosting only. They leave out the weeks of engineering for entitlements, refunds, retries and receipt checks, and the time to keep it working when Apple or Google change something.
The rows don't buy the same thing. RevenueCat, Adapty, Qonversion and Apphud list a paywall builder in the price you see. Superwall's infrastructure row has no paywalls in it, and its paywall row is the only one where Superwall bills at all.
The same facts for each provider
| Provider | Free until | Fee after that | Paywall builder in that fee | SDKs named in the docs |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Infrastructure: no threshold. Paywalls: $10k MAR on Indie | Paywalls: 1% of total MAR once past $10k | Paywalls are the billed product | iOS, Android, Expo, Flutter; Kotlin Multiplatform, Unity and Web in beta | |
| Under $5K a month | 1% of that month's revenue | Yes, in Pro | iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native, Unity, Kotlin Multiplatform, Capacitor | |
| $7,000 MTR | 0.8% of total MTR | Yes, no-code builder in Pro | iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native, Unity, Cordova, Capacitor, Web | |
| $10K MTR | Pro 0.99% (min $49), Expert 1.19% (min $59) | Yes, listed on the Free plan | iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, Unity | |
| Not published | Not published | Screens and paywalls in the docs | Swift/Objective-C, Kotlin/Java, React Native, Flutter, Cordova |
Whether the fee is measured before the store's cut: RevenueCat says before the platform cut, Adapty says before the platforms' cut, and Apphud says before store commissions and VAT. Qonversion and Superwall don't say on the pages I read.
Superwall
What it is. A paywall product with a subscription backend underneath. Superwall's pricing page says entitlements, purchase APIs, webhook delivery and SQL access to your subscription data are "free at any scale". It also says "Imported & pre-integration users are never billed".
Price rule. Infrastructure: free at any scale on Superwall's published pricing (4 Nov 2026). Paywalls: Indie is free up to $10k MAR, then 1% of total MAR, so at $10,001 the fee applies to all of it. Startup is $49 a month plus 1% and Scale is $199 a month plus 1%. Assumes 1% from the first dollar; Superwall's page and FAQ differ on this. The FAQ says MAR is only revenue attributed to a Superwall paywall.
One thing to check. Superwall's terms say it "may modify the usage fees", with "reasonable prior notice" and the change effective at the end of the billing cycle. The pricing page has no date, so screenshot it when you sign up.
Superwall's docs also describe running its paywalls with RevenueCat in observer mode (Using RevenueCat), a way to try the paywall editor without moving your backend. If you only want paywalls, RevenueCat's Growth Tools also charge only on conversions from the tools you use, with no threshold published.
Adapty
What it is. Purchase infrastructure, a flow and paywall builder, A/B tests and revenue analytics in one plan, with web payments through Stripe and Paddle (says Adapty).
Who it suits. Apps under $5,000 a month that want everything free, and apps above that which want one bundle at RevenueCat's 1%.
One thing to check. Adapty's FAQ says it tracks a rolling 30 days before you cross $5K, then your monthly billing cycle begins. Ask what happens in the month you cross.
Qonversion
What it is. Subscription infrastructure with analytics, experiments, a no-code paywall builder and integrations on one plan, Pro.
Who it suits. Apps between roughly $7,000 and $50,000 a month that want a bundle at a lower rate. At 0.8% it is $20 under RevenueCat at $10k and $100 under it at $50k.
Price rule. Free at or under $7,000 MTR, then 0.8% of total tracked revenue. At $8,000 the fee applies to all $8,000, so it's $64. Qonversion's FAQ says pricing is calculated monthly.
One thing to check. The pricing page doesn't list supported platforms. The docs home does. Confirm yours is on it.
Apphud
What it is. In-app purchase infrastructure with analytics, remote product configuration, audience targeting and a no-code paywall builder.
Who it suits. Apps up to $10,000 a month, where the free plan covers infrastructure and a paywall builder with one seat.
Price rule. Free up to $10K MTR. Pro is 0.99% with a $49 minimum and Expert is 1.19% with a $59 minimum. Over $100K a month is "Let's talk." Apphud's FAQ adds that paid plans are free in any month your MTR is below $1K.
One thing to check. Server-to-server webhooks and an Analytics API are listed under Expert, not Pro. If you rely on webhooks, price the 1.19% plan. If you pass $10K without upgrading, Apphud says dashboard access ends after a 14-day grace period, while purchase processing and receipt validation keep working.
Purchasely
What it is. An in-app experience platform. Its site and docs describe paywalls and screens (with a quiz component), onboarding flows, win-back, A/B testing, and observer and full purchase modes.
Price rule. No prices are published, and the site's call to action is "Book a meeting". Ask for a written quote at your current revenue and at twice that.
Native StoreKit 2 and Play Billing
What it is. Using Apple's and Google's billing APIs directly, with your own server for entitlements.
Price rule. No third-party fee. My hosting estimate is $15, $45 or $120 a month depending on revenue, as in the table. Hosting only, no engineering time.
One thing to check. Apple's App Store Server Notifications send real-time notifications of purchase events to your server, and Google documents a server backend integration. Both pieces are yours to build and run. Add up the days that work needs before comparing it to a $100 monthly fee.
Which one to pick
- Under $2,500 a month: stay on RevenueCat, or start there. It is free.
- Between $2,500 and about $50,000 and happy with RevenueCat: stay. At $50,000 the most any listed option saves is $500 a month, and only if you give up something you use.
- You want the lowest published fee and have your own paywalls: Superwall infrastructure, $0 on its published pricing. Read the fee-change clause first.
- You want hosted paywalls without a new backend: try Superwall's paywalls next to RevenueCat, and price both fees at your revenue.
- Between $5,000 and $10,000 a month: Qonversion (free to $7,000) and Apphud (free to $10,000) cost the least among the bundles.
- Above $10,000 and want one bundle: Qonversion at 0.8% is the lowest listed rate. Adapty matches RevenueCat. Check what each includes.
- You want a sales-led platform: Purchasely, with a written quote.
- You'd rather own the code: native, with your eyes open about the engineering time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest RevenueCat alternative?
On published prices, Superwall's infrastructure without its paywalls is $0 at every level. Among providers that bundle paywalls, Apphud is $0 up to $10,000 a month and Qonversion is $0 up to $7,000. At $50,000 a month, Qonversion costs $400 and RevenueCat $500.
Can I use Superwall paywalls with RevenueCat?
Yes. Superwall's docs describe keeping RevenueCat in observer mode with Superwall installed next to it. I found no page that states the combined bill, so work out both fees from the table and confirm with each company.
Is building with StoreKit 2 and Play Billing cheaper?
There is no third-party fee, and my hosting estimate is $15 to $120 a month. That leaves out the engineering time to build and maintain entitlements, refunds and notification handling. Both Apple and Google document the server side you would run.
